Target Margin has a particularly clever name (in relation to its mission), and has, over its years, actually succeeded in that mission, by my count, once. The name also implies a success-goal (in light of its track record) that has not been re-calibrated as necessary.
I agree Target Margin does not seem to add or subtract much of anything in this undertaking. I diagnose laziness as the cause. At the same time, I think an unqualified superlative for Show Boat misses the mark as do the personal pronouncements of line 2 of your poem. |
