Knowing nothing about what's in the book... I can't imagine why I'd want to read an entire memoir from Josh Gad. That's not to say he mightn't or doesn't have a fascinating life or childhood, or insight or whatever, he very well may. I guess as a fat person going through the industry, he has that perspective that is relatively unique. Hey, I can't imagine picking up Andrew Rannell's memoir either, though perhaps as a gay person he's got something worthwhile to say or examine? Not that one must be in a minority or marginalizing group to have a worthwhile memoir, i'm just reaching for things because both of their lives and careers seem pretty unlikely to ever get me to want to read 200+ pages about. I hope they found the audiences they might be relevant and/or entertaining for. |
