This is such great news. I have waited for the reopening having closed just a month ago to be taken over by Tom and Michael D'Angora who have rescued this Restaurant on several occasions during the pandemic raising the monies to keep it open and to keep it going and postponing the initial closing by raising money. Their for this place which was a home to many stars who would eat there, one Chita Rivera. The cabaret room was also a home for so many performers. Karen Mason recorded her Christmas Album there and so did many other performers, KT Sullivan, Jeff Harnar and Marc Nadler did lots there, benefits, parties. The food glorious. Every year for so many KT Sullivan would celebrate my birthday with a lunch there on Dec 22nd. This year was but unfortunately it closed temporarily just a week before, So I can look forward to it this year. I remember when I first discovered this restaurant that there had been a theatre downstairs and saw many little performances. Linda Eder made her New York debut down there before it had been named the Laurie Beechman Room and of course, Joan Rivers booked her self during her last years to sell out crowds. Knowing both Tom and Michael, their special love for this place raising lots of money we will once again enjoy the food and entertainment which will come from there. Thanks guys. We have been friends for a long time. Can't wait to set foot in there again. |
