Granted it's not a hard sing, but she sounds acceptable doing it; she did start out singing on Broadway (with 2 duets recorded) and did so later in nightclubs in Las Vegas. But the studios wanted a more lush sound from her, rather than a character voice, to match her leading lady/sweet young thing image.
