This play stars no less than 3 nepo babies....
Ugh, it's not as if I am surprised by audiences wanting to see the children of successful actors, playwrights, producers, etc. (and some of them can be quite talented) or agents, casting directors and producers preferring to hire from within a gilded fishbowl but it does feel very America 2025 in that it is so short sighted. In terms of a theater eco-system it also feels like traditional routes to nyc stages like regional theaters are less considered by casting agents than they used to be. |
