She does, of course, but the dancing she does in the movie isn't really the same degree of difficulty as what is required from an actress playing Charity.
I suppose the choreography could be simplified, but when you go to a show that's built around dance (because it was built around a dancing star...the top Broadway dancing star of the time...do you really want to see simplified choreography?
I'm not saying that Erivo couldn't do it or doesn't have that talent...it's just that I've never seen her in anything that showcased that kind of dance talent from her. That doesn't mean it's not there. |
