TWO BRIDGE TO HOST "COMMON DENOMINATOR: GAVIN CREEL PRIVATE SCREENING" MONDAY, JANUARY 27 (January 14, 2025 – New York, NY)—Two Bridge is proud to announce an early private screening of Common Denominator, an unreleased new series about art and mental health that focuses on connection and showing people that they are not alone. The private screening of the first episode of Common Denominator with Gavin Creel is in response to the outpouring of love for the beloved Broadway star who filmed the pilot episode before his untimely passing. The event, in coordination with Creel's friends including Celia Keenan-Bolger and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance, will take place on Monday, January 27 at the Director Guild Theater, 110 West 57 Street. It is an invitation-only industry event, but a limited number of tickets will be available, via Playbill.com, where fans can register to receive a ticket to attend. "It is very rare that we get to meet people that change your lives forever, regardless of the amount of time you have with them; Gavin was one of them. This event is meant to celebrate Gavin and showcase the incredible message that he provided during the filming," said Common Denominator Co-Creator Harris Schwartzberg. "We did not feel right having all of this incredible footage of Gavin and not sharing it with those who are grieving his loss." The evening will feature an opening by Schwartzberg who will introduce the concept, followed by behind-the-scenes clips from filming as well as two music videos of Gavin performing original songs. The 35-minute pilot episode, hosted by Emmy Award winner Maurice Dubois and featuring Creel working with Wynwood Artist Peter Tunney, will have multiple screenings that day. There will also be performances by University of Michigan Musical Theater Broadway performers who will perform songs from a few of Gavin's favorite shows. They include Aidan Jones, Lily Rosenberg, Dominic Dorset, Travis Anderson, Sevon Askew, Margot Grom, Claire DeJean, Angeleia Ordonez, and Ximone Rose with Cynthia Westphal Nixon. Since Gavin was such a proponent of scholarship and teaching, Two Bridge is working with the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, and Dance to match donations from this screening for the Celia Keenan-Bolger and Gavin Creel Activist Artist Endowed Scholarship Fund. Gavin inspired the Schwartzberg family to donate to the UM School of Music, Theater, and Dance, which resulted in the Steven M. Schwartzberg Practice Wing at UMSMTD and "The Berg" technology dance studio at the UM Dance Building. "Common Denominator was created to allow artists and guests to openly discuss important issues around loneliness, happiness, love, loss, and everything in between; Gavin was the ideal guest to set the standard for all others," continued Schwartzberg. "Gavin shows us we are NOT alone; we are not stuck; and we have to be each other's emotional scaffolding at times." Additional behind-the-scenes videos and performances by Gavin are currently available for subscribers at @TwoBridgeStudios on YouTube. Two Bridge will be announcing when the episode is available on YouTube. BIOS: TWO BRIDGE was created to advocate for mental health issues through community and storytelling. The founders of Two Bridge are lifelong healthcare experts who have chosen to focus exclusively on mental health in response to the epidemic of loneliness. Two Bridge hosts high-energy mental health convening events that uniquely combine music and interviews with experts, artists, and athletes and create captivating mental health media content. Two Bridge is introducing Two Bridge Support in 2025, a proprietary Psychological First Aid Training program that combines media with evidence-based training. COMMON DENOMINATOR, which combines discussions about mental well-being with art and music, was created in the past year. Two Bridge has filmed two uniquely different episodes to-date: the pilot episode with Gavin Creel, and Episode 2 with Mercury Records/Universal Music Group artist Noah Kahan. Gavin was filmed in New York, including at the MCC Theater, and Noah was in Big Sky, Montana. They have several other guests from stage, screen and music currently under consideration. The most important tenet for @TwoBridgeNY when making future episodes is to maintain honest and open conversations; the willingness to be vulnerable drives their guests, not the number of Instagram followers. Gavin and Noah speak so openly about things ranging from love to loss, loneliness to friendship, and they have set a high bar for future guests. The goal of Two Bridge is to democratize the show so that the world can see it. They hope to combine brand sponsorship with a platform that will enable all fans to view all their shows. MAURIC DUBOIS. A four-time Emmy winner, Maurice has hosted CBS News (NY) for over 20 years, conducting interviews with many global artists, politicians, and activists. Maurice is now a co-anchor of CBS National Nightly News, beginning in January 2025. He is a dedicated mental health advocate and has shifted some of his focus towards mental health issues, including the series he created with @TwoBridgeNY called "Changing the World." Guests on this series have included Glenn Close, Justin Paul, Benj Pasek, Chelsea Clinton, Midge Purce and Dr. Jim Kim. PETER TUNNEY. A renowned contemporary artist, Peter subtly explores themes of resilience, introspection, and positivity in his captivating mixed-media artwork. His creations encourage reflection, enriching the broader conversation about human emotion and experience. |
