Seating begins 6:15 PM, Show at 7:00 PM

NEW YORK, NY (January 2025) - Multiple MAC Award winner Natalie Douglas joins an extraordinary ensemble for "Steve Schalchlin and Friends: Two Things Too" at Don't Tell Mama NYC. Following its acclaimed debut at the Winter Rhythms Festival opening night gala, composer Steve Schalchlin - praised by The New York Times for his "triumphant and very touching" blend of gallows humor and emotional depth - brings his newest collection of original songs to life with some of New York's finest performers.

Douglas adds her powerful voice to a stellar lineup that includes celebrated cabaret comedian Sidney Myer, internationally acclaimed vocalist Carl Draper, rising star Blake Zolfo, and virtuoso Charlie Viehl on violin, vocals, and guitar. The Rebel Nerds (South African musician Gavin Gold and Maine native Jake Adams) infuse their signature punk energy throughout the evening, with Adams joining the Bonus Round Band on bass.

The show explores themes of duality, connection, and transformation through Schalchlin's native Texan blend of melodic country, gospel and rock fused with cabaret, jazz, theater and punk. The evening culminates as Schalchlin and Gold transform into Strawberry Feels NYC, bringing audiences together through the universal language of Beatles classics, their Sgt. Pepper's-inspired performance capturing the same magical community spirit they create daily in Central Park.
