I, too, am thankful that the OP provided a gift link for this article as otherwise I would not have ever read it. I do subscribe several places but cannot realistically subscribe to all of them. People should provide a synopsis, at the very least, if they want to discuss an article that is behind a paywall.

My take re: the article is that London imports would do better to have a try-out elsewhere in the U.S. to make sure that the same show is going to land with American audiences. One that I've referenced before is the Guys & Dolls production that got raves in London but didn't rise above a good regional production for me. I'll be curious to see how Operation Mincemeat fares. It was one of the best shows I've seen in forever, but I knew nothing of the subject matter and had not seen the story told elsewhere plus I like that type of small story that has some heart in addition to the humor. Does that set it up for success for a commercial Broadway run? I hope so but am a bit skeptical.
