I don't think she would be much of a "get" to be the lead of Mamma Mia on Broadway... I don't doubt she can sing it, but I have heard many times over the years that her voice is her strength. So if she's not a draw anymore, and not known to be a strong enough actor for that role, then perhaps it wasn't a question of if she wanted to do the role or not.
I suppose a regional theater might find her name more helpful. |
