That song has long since been cut from the show (Working) as it has evolved over the years and the "boy" role was eliminated, but it's still a fun listen on the OBC (and Matt McGrath is still performing, his most recent credit on IBDB is in The Girl From The North Country). The song is a fun look at an 11-year old newsboy who seems to be able to talk the talk and walk the walk in his own way, but really his favorite part of the job is flinging the newspaper into the bushes. Boi-i-i-ng.:)
And the lyric quoted above, a clear reference to Carter's smile, is the only musical theatre reference I can think of to the late president. |
