| I saw the Kennedy Center try-out and was blown away by Lansbury’s performance. It remains the best musical theater performance I’ve ever seen. I was very young and realized for the first time that a performance in a musical could be as finely shaded as a great role in a non-musical drama. The show was in the Opera House but Lansbury made it seem like an intimate space. I became a lifetime fan. |
