I recall reading an article--in The NY Times, perhaps--about THREE TALL WOMEN in rehearsal. It noted that Mantello didn't have an easy time directing Jackson and maintained a kid-gloves approach. The author of the piece wrote that after Montello politely offered her a suggestion, Jackson responded: "Nice try."
