It's true. Staunton was unwatchable. Not a genuinely felt moment, just performing for the rafters.
She did the show a tremendous disservice, which Lupone almost matched in its desperate grasping for the audiences' attention.
Other than that, I've enjoyed all the other Gypsys I've seen, with McDonald and Lansbury at the top. |
