Three takeaways from the movie adaptation of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC:
1: I agree re: The Glamorous Life. I have always loved this song!
2: When I saw the movie in a theatre on its release, the audience literally gasped when Elizabeth Taylor made her entrance in the red dress. That made for a little moment of joy.
3: Pauline Kael's review included one of my all-time favorite quotes: "The picture has been made as if the director (Harold Prince) had never seen a movie." |
