It’s very scripted… hence the cast reading from their binders.
The "hence" doesn't figure here. One expects a scripted play (merely meaning the material is notated, and of course most plays are) to be off-book, unless it's specifically labelled a reading. And readings are most often one-night events, not long runs. (In other words, "scripted" does not mean "performed with scripts.") |
