Oh I guarantee you that they are.
And will be.

You say it has a “cast of comedians”.
This first cast, that the “play” is opening to critics with,
consists of exactly one comedian - John Mulaney.
Other than that, there’s a beloved character actor, an all-around terrific actress still best known for musical theater and her role in Hamilton, and a sketch performer who’s an alumnus of SNL but has done a little bit of everything including playing drums and being the musical director for Seth Myers.
All of them can certainly be funny, but only one is best known for stand-up comedy.
And here they’re not even doing stand-up, since they’re mostly sitting down.

It’s a strange exercise for all concerned.
