I just listened to it, the first time I've listened to SB in any form in years. It sounded fine to me. I actually thought it sounded (appropriately) like an old cinema score more than a Broadway show.
Question: the singing on the album sounds like it is from a studio session, and the audience reaction sounds canned (in part because it fades out cleanly). Was it a live or studio recording?
