| Thanks for the review. It will be the last thing I read about Gypsy because I have tickets for February and I don't want to know anything more. It sounds like they're slowly getting it into shape which is fine because it's not a production from anywhere else, it was created for this Broadway production from scratch. Many say it's the best musical ever and I agree, and since we have the opportunity to see the best musical actress currently working playing the biggest female part in musicals, the "King Lear" of musical roles, I'm all in for it. Rose is a mammoth role that requires the actress to live in it for months, which is why Bette Midler in the TV version struggled with it because she hadn't performed it for a long stretch. I'm confident that seeing Audra in it will be well worth the ticket price. |
