| TONY AWARD NOMINEE HAILEY KILGORE TELEVISION STAR CARLOS VALDES AND BROADWAY LEGEND TOM HEWITT TO JOIN THE CAST OF THE TONY AWARD®-WINNING BEST MUSICAL " H A D E S T O W N " ON BROADWAY New York, NY (December 3, 2024) – Producers Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold, and Tom Kirdahy announced today that Hailey Kilgore, Carlos Valdes, and Tom Hewitt will join the cast of the Tony® and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical, Hadestown on Broadway beginning Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Last seen on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revival of Once on this Island, Tony Award nominee Hailey Kilgore will take over the role of 'Eurydice.' Best known for his recurring role on CW's "The Flash," Carlos Valdes will return to Broadway in the role of 'Orpheus.' Tom Hewitt, in his 13th Broadway show, will rejoin the company in the role of 'Hades.' They will succeed Maia Reficco, Jordan Fisher, and Phillip Boykin, respectively, who will all take their final bow in the production on January 12, 2025. Hadestown currently stars Jordan Fisher as Orpheus, Lillias White as Hermes, Phillip Boykin as Hades, Maia Reficco as Eurydice, and Allison Russell as Persephone. They are joined by Shea Renee, Jessie Shelton, and Brit West as the Fates. The chorus of Workers is played by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Timothy H. Lee, Alex Puette and Grace Yoo. The cast includes swings Sojourner Brown, Brandon Cameron, KC Dela Cruz, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai, and Tanner Ray Wilson. Hadestown originated as Anaïs Mitchell's indie theater project that toured Vermont which she then turned into an acclaimed album. With Rachel Chavkin, her artistic collaborator, Hadestown has been transformed into a genre-defying new musical that blends modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale. Following two intertwining love stories — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers, and singers, Hadestown delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Hadestown is now playing its long-awaited West End premiere at the Lyric Theatre, returning to London, six years after its 2018 engagement at the National Theatre, and the North American tour has just completed a 3-year run. Productions in Sydney, Melbourne, and Amsterdam will open in Spring 2025. BIOGRAPHIES HAILEY KILGORE (Eurydice) is an American singer, dancer and actress. Best known for her Tony and Grammy nominated turn as Ti Moune in the Broadway revival of Once on this Island Hailey has since gone on to star in multiple films including the critically acclaimed Respect opposite Jennifer Hudson and the feature Cinnamon in which Hailey stars in the lead role. The film made its debut to rave reviews at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. On the TV front, Hailey currently stars as Jukebox in Starz's "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" and has had multiple memorable arcs on Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories" on Apple and NBC's "The Village." Hailey's first EP "Desire and Devotion" was released in '23. Hailey is represented by Circle Management + Production and Independent Artist Group. CARLOS VALDES (Orpheus). Colombian-American actor and singer Carlos Valdes received rave reviews for his starring role opposite Mae Whitman in the Hulu musical series "Up Here" from Tommy Kail (Hamilton, "Fosse/Verdon") and the EGOT-winning team from Frozen, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Valdes made his television debut starring as Cisco Ramon / Vibe in both "The Flash" and "Arrow" from Greg Berlanti, appearing in more than 100 episodes. He then went on to star among an ensemble cast including Julia Roberts, Sean Penn and Dan Stevens in the acclaimed limited series "Gaslit" from Emmy-winning producer Sam Esmail and creator Robbie Pickering. After graduating from the University of Michigan musical theatre program, Valdes started his career on the stage in the national tour of Jersey Boys, and then made his Broadway debut playing Andrej in the Tony Award winning musical Once, in which he also performed on piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, and percussion.
