Powerful, provocative opera with stunning music. Timely subject matter. Strong performances. Mostly recitative, but surprisingly accessible. Act One is lighter with many moments of humor. Act Two is darker and emotionally devastating as it tells the tragic story of a black male teenage protester's demise at the hands of police. Highly recommended.
