I think it's a very tough job to be a performer. I also think many other jobs in other unrelated fields come with similar issues of stress, abuse, and need of self-care in order to make it through. I think this conversation is going nowhere, because you're trying to make a point that actors are unique, and no, they're not. They're just not. Yes, doing 8 shows a week is incredibly hard work. I know that personally, and I've seen any number of actors fail to keep up - resulting in fatigue, body injuries and vocal injuries that they thought they'd be immune from (especially younger performers who think they can make it through anything), let alone anxiety and other issues that get in the way of consistent performance. I've seen actors and musicians deal with (and often deny) substance abuse to try to get through it all, only to be sabotaged by that same abuse when it's clear they can't do the job anymore. It's a tough business. It is. So are other careers in their own ways.

We all get it. We really do. You willingly refuse to believe that, but we do. Now enough. Please.
