But it does take place in South Korea and not Seattle. Clearly the creatives made that choice to keep the original story in SK. And a very large part of the show is passing as human to get to the island. He is afraid in the car, on the ferry and the hotel as being identity as a robot. So being a tall whitish looking robot would stand out in South Korea even in the near future as the playbill establishes the time line. It is not the opposite where he is Asian trying to pass as white or a country that is a melting pot—of course that may change in the near future here.
