I assume I'm going to love it, but I do have both 2 questions and an observation on your report. First, do you know if they performed Rose's songs in the OBC keys, or the modulated keys that have been pretty standard since 1960? Also, was there any appreciable difference in choreography? This production's choreographer is, I think, the first on Broadway that doesn't have some sort of Jerome Robbins pedugree. My observation: I am a little disappointed that you found it to be pretty conventional. I have loved every production and Rose I've seen, and I will never tire of seeing a masterpiece well performed. But I was hoping that it would shake things up a bit, that it might look and feel a little more unique. |
