Lilo was definitely worried that the show was being stolen by Verdon, however she was also in the social circle of Cole Porter (mostly due to her husband, a French marquis. This was Vernon's first show, so she had little clout, and she apparently had a little bit of an attitude about Michael Kidd as she thought he wasn't as good as her mentor Jack Cole. |
