As internecine scandals go - and this one is mostly the result of cyber communiques produced by/adjacent to the industry as opposed to the ticket-buying public - it seems to have a brief(er) shelf life.
For comparison's sake, or not: At Wicked, a trailer for a quasi-religious film staring Zachary Levi produced audible hissing in the multiplex yesterday. I think the difference between a Levi - who may or may not return to B'way (and was awfully good in She Loves Me) - and Scherzinger is contextual. One took a year-long highly visible pro conservative/pro-Trump policy stand while another simply liked a couple of social media posts, one of which, arguably, was as much as sendup of MAGA as MAGA endorsement (and I'm not here to defend her, just play armchair sociologist - underscore armchair - so no accusations, please.) |
