| I think the short answer is, unless you have access to inside information, the average ticket buyer cannot tell by looking at the seating map on Ticketmaster, etc. which seats are unavailable because they are sold or which seats are unavailable because they are a production hold for house seats, sightlines, hold back for dynamic pricing etc. You could check out a site like Broadwaybox that aggregates all of the ticket offers for a show in the marketplace. The ones that are selling well often just have a link to purchase full price tickets. Ones that are struggling might have multiple discount offers. If you share the name of the show, some posters here could tell you if they have seen it on TDF at all, a bit, or a lot. Shows that put a lot of tix up on TDF are often struggling. If the show does fail you will get your money back. Are you worried because you are planning a whole trip around it? Or for some other reason? |
