Oh, Mary! (Once again)

I saw Oh, Mary! last night for the second time. What Cole Escola has done/is doing with this show is brilliant. I laughed so hard (again). I realize humor is subjective, but his characterization of Mary Todd Lincoln as an impish, self absorbed, impulsive, sadistic, drunk, frustrated cabaret diva - is so bonkers that it’s genius. And the supporting cast is pitch perfect - especially Conrad Ricamora as the horny, perpetually frustrated, closeted Abe Lincoln. He’s the perfect foil for Cole’s deliriously madcap Mary. And…note the very clever and humorous photography around the theater (and above the urinals!). I was howling.
