| Was at next door theater seeing 7:00 p.m performance of "The Hills of California" (really good) and noticed intermission seemed to be over at "Gypsy" around 9:50 when we let out from our show, so apparently long intermission and delays as per other theater board. As I was curious to hear if Audra McDonald was belting, it appears from the other board that her "soprano" was being offered in the role, so she's using her legit voice as Rose. Reports were all over the place, with a number saying she's just miscast. No reports really on director choices other than some people didn't like the scenery and physical production. I don't tend to read that board too often, but "Gypsy" is one of my favorite shows, and I've seen some great Roses over the years. All were really good belters... |
