| Sweet and sad. Sam Kissajukian is an Australian comedian turned visual artist who is also bipolar. In an extended manic period he started painting, and he couldn’t stop. 300 PAINTINGS takes you through his fractured mindscape during this time. If this sounds somehow arduous or otherwise dreary, it’s not. Kissajukian is an unaggressively funny, winsome guy. As he tries to convey his various emotional states, he demonstrates playfully and plaintively the fallacy of understanding self experience as singular rather than multiple. His mind is quick. And so is his heart. 300 PAINTINGS is a small, keen wonder. |
