I saw it a few weeks back (so it was still in previews) and absolutely loved it.
Kinda reminded me of a cross between Come from Away and Once, since the small-ish cast played all of the parts (except for the lead who played Benjamin) and they also all played the instruments throughout. The score is also very reminiscent of Come from Away with its folksy, local charm.
Was only in London for a weekend before going to Paris for a week so only managed to see two shows, this and Stranger Things. Both were packed but oddly enough even with all of the Stranger Things fans in attendance that show didn't get a standing ovation while Benjamin Button got an immediate and well deserved one. It also had me in tears at the end.
Really hope this gets a recording and manages to make it as I think it could be a hit in regional theatres if not also on Broadway |
