Shouldn't it be "bottom 10" if they're supposed to be the "worst" flops? Or is that supposed to be a list of the ten best musical flops? It sure as hell isn't that, and it sure as hell isn't the ten worst, either. Any such list as the above, based on no discernible criteria and apparently compiled without much knowledge either, is going to be both absurd and pointless. For the record, Pipe Dream ran eight months and was pretty darn good. Kelly ran one performance and dared to be different, but misguidedly so. Breakfast at Tiffany's was merely mediocre and dull, and never opened. Via Galactica ran seven performances, and who cares? The Rocky Horror Show was also pretty darn good and was never, in fact, a flop anywhere except on Broadway. Bring Back Birdie was truly atrocious. And so on and so on--no rhyme or reason to the list, which might have been drawn out of a hat. |
