The Grammys allow show albums to name up to 4 principal vocalists, so it seems a shame that ''The Notebook'' and ''Suffs'' apparently chose not to name any.

It would've been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their own artists and give them some Grammy recognition (to add to their respective bios).

In ''The Notebook,'' the younger and middle Noahs and Allies sing the bulk of Ingrid Michaelson's score, so I would've nominated John Cardoza, Jordan Tyson, Ryan Vasquez and Joy Woods as principal vocalists. Though Mary Plunkett and Dorian Harewood were Tony-nominated, they don't sing nearly as much.

For ''Suffs,'' I might've gone with Jenn Colella, Nikki M. James, Emily Skinner and Shaina Taub, even though Taub is already nominated as lyricist/composer.

Conversely, ''The Wiz'' chose Nichelle Lewis (Dorothy), Avery Wilson (Scarecrow), Deborah Cox (Glinda) and Wayne Brady (The Wiz). But that left out Kyle Ramar Freeman (Lion) and Phillip Johnson Richardson (Tin Man), who sing much more than Cox and Brady, but Cox and Brady are the bigger names.

By the way, were there any conspicuous omissions in this Musical Theater Album category? ''Stereophonic''? ''Here We Are''?
