I don't hear much pastiche in Knickerbocker Holiday, except maybe for a little Gilbert and Sullivan, but I'm not even sure of that. (I don't know Gilbert and Sullivan very well.) In general, the score sounds very Weill to me. And the books of the two shows don't seem to me to have anything in common.
The Columbus sequence from Where Do We Go From Here? certainly is full of pastiche. But it's just one isolated sequence. |
