I guess it's a sign of aging when you find yourself using words and phrases that people don't know. I was surprised when a number of musical theater performers- intelligent men and women all- mentioned they had no idea what the term "pitch woo" meant (as heard in "Too Darn Hot").
"Don't have a conniption" was one of my mother's favourite admonitions. I suppose it was popular in the 1930's and '40's when she was growing up.
