| I wasn't familiar with her before watching her on Colbert last night. She seems like a lovely person and one full of gratitude. Now, Colbert put her on the spot for her to sing a bit of "Losing My Mind" of which she sang the beginning phrases. I've just heard her belt in those "Sunset Boulevard" commercials. Here, using much less voice, she had a lovely tone, though she did scoop and add an extra note to each phrase of "Losing My Mind", something which a musical director would probably advise her to just sing the melody, otherwise it's "jazzing it up". And it was quite impromptu, as it was in reply to what Colbert asked what her favorite Sondheim song was. She also looked lovely; I rather wished Colbert let her sing with his band, but as a planned sing. | |
