| My theory, based on what I saw and NOTHING ELSE, I HAVE NO ACTUAL INFORMATION WHATSOEVER, is that Elton John did the music (he's the primary draw) following a plot outline and they got the book author to write the scenes between songs after that. IF IF IF this was the process, IMHO, it was doomed at the outset, the book has to come first. In this case it would mean another year for a new draft after this one. The relationship Jim/Tammy isn't developed at all here. This is shallow by-the-numbers book work -- (which I've seen once before with the author, on "Ink") when there is so much rich detailed source material out there, I remember it when the story broke in the press. (I can't stop OBSESSING about this, as you can see !! Make it stop !!) What they have here is acceptable as a bare-bones skeleton, but they needed AT THE VERY LEAST one more draft with a different writer. This guy's dull and witless. This is crying out for some dark biting humor. Why Borle chose to get involved has me scratching my head. I PROMISE TO STOP NOW, AND MOVE ON!! ENOUGH ALREADY !! |
