| Scherzinger played Grizabella in ''Cats'' in 2014 in the West End; was Olivier Award-nominated, and even sang ''Memory'' at the 2015 Oliviers. Apparently, she was supposed to do ''Cats'' on Broadway in 2016, but pulled out to be a judge on TV's ''The X Factor,'' which ticked off Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Lloyd-Webber, at the time, fumed to Economist Radio: ''I’m furious because I really believe she’s the most fantastically talented girl and I went out on a limb to get her for the London Palladium here. But never mind, there’ll be another girl on Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony Award.” That led to a falling-out between Scherzinger and Lloyd-Webber, who's known her for many years, but they've long since made up. Recently, the composer raved: Nicole in ''Sunset Blvd'' is ''the best performance of anything I've ever had.'' And I bet he believes she'll now get her Tony. |
