You have it backward.
In "Enemy of the People" (at least, the production that ran last season), the main character's OPPONENTS — Michael Imperioli character, etc. — are the equivalent of Trumpers, i.e. anti-vaxers. They reject science and any fact that isn't convenient to their agenda, they're the one who are - as you said - reluctant to investigate.
Plus, there was this line Jeremy Strong said about Imperioli: "This blinkered man who debases everything he touches." If the translator didn't have Donald Trump in mind when she wrote that, I'd be shocked. |
