I totally agree!
It is a truly haunted performance, particularly as a shadow of his earlier performance. It adds even more nuanced layers to this already-brilliant song. His concert presentation is, like FOLLIES itself, a perfect mirror of older/younger selves. I was stunned upon first viewing it. It immediately became my favorite version of this song (and usually makes me cry, for so many reasons, upon hearing it). |
