I don't think you really read my post carefully. I'm not objecting to the critique of the show. I'm objecting to the outright prediction that it will close in a few weeks after it opens. No one knows that right now, and if you're a performer who's ever dealt with a closing notice going up (especially early on), you'll know it's a terrible feeling. Why bring that up when it's nothing more than a prediction? Would you want someone posting that about YOUR show when you're hoping to use the preview period to help it have a possibility for a decent run?
Fact - the poster saw the show and thought it was awful.
Not fact - "it will close within weeks of opening."
I might not have been so apt to comment on this had the poster said something like "I wouldn't be surprised if the run doesn't last very long." That's just a kinder way of putting it, and it's also more accurate than an outright crystal ball. |
