I saw it a few days back and unfortunately don't agree. I like Morisseau and really liked Signature's recent presentation of Sunset Baby. But this one didn't do it for me.

The central character of the American girl traveling to Haiti was the problem at large. If she was written as a fierce girl out tochange the world, she would have been smacked in the face with the reality in Haiti and therefore created much more drama.
Instead, she is a somewhat wishy-washy character who seems never too sure of what she wants to do.

The part of the gay friend was played a bit over the top as if for laughs but not for high drama.

Agreed that the part of the Haitian cousin was excellent and well acted.

I would take a pass on this one.
