She's based in Australia now, but she was born in my hometown in north-west England.
She's terrific - a very strong dancer, a big voice, decent actor, funny. She was a tremendous Rose in a revival of Gypsy at Curve in Leicester in 2012, and wonderful as Anna in The Rink at the Southwark Playhouse in London a few years later. She's ideal casting as Dolly, and I wouldn't hesitate to book if I was going to be in Paris during the run.
And Peter Polycarpou will probably be an excellent Horace.
Plus - good director/choreographer, excellent musical director (Stephen Mear, Nigel Lilley). On paper, it's a really good package. |
