A tour with Uggams went out in October 1988. Rip Taylor was Moonface Martin. For whatever reason, it didn't do well and it shut down after three months. A couple of months later, Uggams replaced LuPone at the Beaumont. Lincoln Center Theater produced the tour.

Eight months after the first tour closed, a tour with Gaynor went out. Different producers were credited, but it was the physical production of the Lincoln Center production, and I think the same text and the same orchestrations or at least similar ones, perhaps downsized and simplified a bit for the tour (as has long been common). A different director was credited. This tour lasted nine months.
