Even with the smiley fact, I'm not quite sure how to take that. :)
I think Puntila is probably seen fairly regularly in Germany and maybe a few other countries, but certainly not in the U.S. In fact, there are several major Brecht plays that seem to have never been produced in New York except perhaps by some smallish Off-Off Broadway companies. It's easy to understand why, but still it's a bit odd how many have not received what we call "major productions" in New York. |
