It's a funny thing. They may as well call it their "possibly pre-broadway series"...
I don't know that anyone going to the shows thinks of them as fundraisers or that their ticket purchase is any more bought with the thought of helping Encores or City Center with their funding than buying any other ticket. I'm also not sure how these presumably more expensive productions that run for longer are any more designed to raise funds than the other shows... other than the idea that if they transfer to a Broadway run they would presumably bring in much more funds if they sell well there. |
