| I have to second royscho’s post. I have never liked the show itself; I find the music repetitive and the lyrics pretty trite, but neither ever sounded better than they do in this production, and what better use of video projections than in a show about a silent film star? Those close ups drew me completely in to Norma’s mania. I found this whole experience thrilling from the moment I entered the theater, and it was for me, too, the highlight of a consistently rewarding theater trip to London last year. I can’t wait to see it again here (and I almost never see shows more than once). |
