I'm really surprised that it seems like Wicked Part I does not have an original song, even if it's just played over the end credits. An original song is a standard ploy for the Oscars, because a song is only eligible for the Oscar for Best Original Song if it is written for the film.

I'm having trouble thinking of major film versions of musicals with an original score that have come out since 1971, when the film of Fiddler on the Roof was supposed to have an original song but it was cut from the final print. The only ones I can think of are Rent and Tick, Tick...Boom, where I imagine the creators did not want to include a song by someone other than Jonathan Larson, and ones by Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and the remake of West Side Story). Are there others?
