When an important politician or military official (etc) dies, flags are generally immediately flown at half staff (and not just for a minute either). I don't see why Broadway has to piddle twiddle and (sometimes disappointingly) resolve the respectful, humane, and simple gesture of turning a bunch of lights off for a few minutes in honor of an artist who has passed.

TBH, I feel that it's somewhat disrespectful that after losing a number of beloved performing artists this past weekend, that the lights haven't already been dimmed in their honor. Good god, what in hell are they waiting for?

(Do NOT tell me to sit down.)
