In the review, Zander mentions that he saw four women play Maria Callas in the original Broadway production of Master Class. I'm wondering whom he saw in addition to Caldwell, LuPone and Carter as they were the only actresses to play the role full time in the production. And I don't remember noticing this previously, but it seems like whoever was the standby for the role was not listed in playbills. Now I'm wondering who it was. A search reveals that Caldwell did not have even an unlisted standby when the run started, but perhaps they hired one after several performances had to be canceled due to Caldwell getting ill a couple of times, or perhaps they hired one after she left.

Anyway, I'd be interested in knowing who the other actress was. It just occurred to me that perhaps Zander is counting the tour as an incarnation of the original production, although since he says original Broadway production (as opposed to original production), that seems unlikely.
